For the first time in 2021, the authorities of one of the regions of RUSSIA decided to stop public transport due to the threat of the spread of CORONAVIRUS infection covid-19 , but so far only on weekends. The corresponding decision was made on July 13 at a meeting of the operational headquarters of the Republic of Tuva.

“The extremely irresponsible attitude of citizens towards their own HEALTH and the unwillingness of businesses to comply with anti-COVID requirements are forcing the authorities to take tough measures,” the press service of the regional administration said in a statement.

At a meeting of the operational headquarters, it was decided to amend the decree of the HEAD of Tuva, dedicated to the fight against COVID-19, to tighten the previously introduced restrictions. One of the measures will be to stop public transport on weekends.

In addition, it was decided to ban cafes and restaurants from serving customers on their premises (after the amendments come into force, they will only be able to work with takeaway and delivery), and marriages will be stopped at registry offices.

The press service of the administration of Tuva, citing the head of the regional department of Rospotrebnadzor, Lyudmila Salchak, says that 170 new cases of COVID-19 infection have been registered in the region over the past day (most of the cases were detected in the capital Kyzyl and its environs). At the same time, the Stopcoronavirus.rf website states that only 128 cases of COVID-19 infection have been detected in Tuva over the past 24 hours, and the number of cases last rose to the level of 170 infections per day last summer.
