Over the past day in Sevastopol, 16 people have died from the CORONAVIRUS infection covid-19 , which has become a new maximum since the beginning of the pandemic, according to the data of the federal operational headquarters. The total death toll from the disease in the city has risen to 1,299, according to local authorities.

During the same day, 337 new cases of COVID-19 infection were detected in Sevastopol, which also became a new record. Over the entire period, 37.6 thousand cases of coronavirus infection were detected in the region.

On October 26, the Governor of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhaev, described the epidemic situation in the city as the most difficult for the entire time of the pandemic. “We now have almost the entire bed fund occupied, about 5% remains in reserve. We are now deploying another 200 beds, but this will already be the limit of the power that our medicine can withstand, it is already working, frankly, beyond [its capabilities],” he said.

Sevastopol will require COVID-certificates to leave the city Society

Sevastopol reached record mortality and infection rates on the eve of the introduction in the region (from October 30) of restrictive measures, which Razvozhaev called "full stop". One of the toughest measures will be the installation of checkpoints at the borders of the city and at the railway station, at which everyone arriving in or leaving Sevastopol will have to present certificates or QR codes for vaccination, or certificates of illness.
