Beijing asks Microsoft to turn off 'suggestions' in Bing search engine

Microsoft-developed Bing, the only major foreign search engine available in CHINA, said the "relevant government agency" required the company to suspend auto-suggestions in China for seven days. it is reported by REUTERS.

In December, Bing was also forced to temporarily disable "prompts" for Chinese users. The company does not name the reasons for the suspension of work.

Over the past year, the tech sector in China has been hit hard by Beijing's regulatory measures, which have introduced a number of new restrictions in areas ranging from content creation to privacy policy.
