Vector's partner plans to supply EpiVacCorona to Venezuela

The Russian pharmaceutical company Geropharm has signed an agreement with the government of Venezuela to supply the country with the EpiVacCorona vaccine developed by the Vector Novosibirsk Center for Virology and Biotechnology. The volume of supplies may reach 10 million doses by the end of the year, the company said.

The agreement was concluded within the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, it was signed by the General DIRECTOR of Geropharm Petr Rodionov and the Minister of HEALTH of Venezuela Carlos Alvarado in the presence of the HEAD of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov.

Venezuela will be the first country where the EpiVacCoron vaccine will be available for large-scale vaccination of the population to prevent infection. Shipping is scheduled to begin in September.

According to the terms of the agreement, Geropharm will produce and supply the vaccine in accordance with the agreed procurement schedule and will be the holder of the registration certificate for the drug in Venezuela.

Rodionov noted that the company plans to start production of the first two batches of the EpiVacCoron vaccine on a full-cycle basis in July.
