Andrey Klyukin, the organizer of the Wild Mint festival in the Tula region, spoke on the air of the RBC TV channel about the details of the meeting with the HEAD of the region, Alexei Dyumin.
According to him, the main difficulties arose due to the fact that the festival was canceled 12 hours before the start of the event. The total damage from the cancellation of the festival is estimated at about 96 million rubles. Last year, the damage amounted to 18 million rubles.
At the same time, Klyukin said that the sponsoring companies of the festival did not demand compensation for damages and payment of penalties.

Nearly 12,000 season tickets were sold to the festival. Of these, 1100 tickets were returned. At the same time, Klyukin said that some fans of Wild Mint organized a flash mob and began to buy tickets for the 2022 festival.
According to Klyukin, the festival will not be rescheduled to a later date. The venue where the festival was supposed to take place is already being demolished.
The festival was canceled on the night of June 18th. "Wild mint" was planned to be held in the village of Bunyrevo from June 18 to 20. A few days earlier, authorities had agreed to host Wild Mint with restrictions on spectators. They were going to let them in only if they had a negative PCR test for coronavirus, received a day before the start of the festival, or according to a certificate of vaccination against covid-19 .
The reason for the cancellation of the festival, according to the head of the Rospotrebnadzor for the Tula region, Alexander Lomovtsev, is an increase in the incidence of coronavirus and the emergence of new strains.
On the eve of the Tula region revealed 72 new cases of infection with coronavirus. On June 18, 77 new cases were reported.
