On November 15, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that the number of new cases of infection in the city had decreased by 23%, and the number of hospitalizations by 19%. He stressed that the number of cases and hospitalizations has been declining for the second week in a row.
According to the mayor, the decrease in the number of cases is due to the introduction of non-working days in the city, which had a “very good” effect on the situation with covid-19 . “The incidence and detection rates have halved, and we see this in a sharp decrease in hospitalizations, in other indicators, in pneumonia, and so on. That is, this is a real effect, ”Sobyanin said on the air of the Rossiya 1 TV channel, answering the question of how this decision affected the epidemic situation.
Non-working days in Moscow were announced from October 28 to November 7. On October 28, the peak incidence for the autumn just fell - 8440 people.
