The Novosibirsk Regional Special Library for the Blind and Visually Impaired, for the first time in the Russian Federation, has developed and implemented a project to inform about the vaccination against covid-19 for residents of the region with visual impairments - “Anti-Suitcase”. This was reported in the press service of the Government of the Novosibirsk region.
“A special library has prepared the so-called Anti-Corona Case, which allows blind and visually impaired people to receive accurate, complete information about what a modern CORONAVIRUS vaccine is, under what conditions it is made, and to whom it is indicated. This helps to remove the barrier that many citizens experience before getting vaccinated, to make a responsible choice and, after getting vaccinated, to protect their HEALTH and the health of their loved ones,” said Irina Manuylova, Deputy Governor of the Novosibirsk Region.
The Anti-Coin Case project was launched with the assistance of the Ministry of Health of the Novosibirsk Region, the regional department of Roszdravnadzor and the regional center for public health and medical prevention.
The “Anti-Suitcase” was created to increase the availability and awareness of people with visual impairments in the region about vaccination. This is a specially designed package of information documents to help decision-making and vaccination against COVID-19 for blind and visually impaired citizens. It includes sets of brochures "Vaccination against COVID-19" and "Reminder about vaccination against COVID-19" and other documents presented in special formats - embossed dot, audio with cryptographic protection, as well as large print.
At the moment, there are 95 coronavirus vaccination points in the Novosibirsk Region: in all adult clinics of the regional center, in all districts and urban districts of the region. In addition, 87 mobile vaccination teams operate in the Novosibirsk Region. Three coronavirus vaccines are available in the region: EpiVacCorona, CoviVac and Sputnik V.
