Restrictions are still introduced for a month

Cafes and restaurants in the Nizhny Novgorod region at night - from 00:00 to 06:00 - will work in the takeaway format.

Gleb Nikitin, Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, made the corresponding changes to the decree “On the introduction of a high alert regime” from October 6, 2021. This measure is temporary and is set until October 31, 2021. Similar restrictions in cafes and restaurants were in effect in the region during the first wave of coronavirus.

Also, it is now forbidden to hold mass events in cafes and restaurants - banquets, dance parties, corporate parties, entertainment and creative events, karaoke.

Earlier, Gleb Nikitin reported that since the second half of September in the Nizhny Novgorod region there has been a well-established trend towards an increase in the incidence, and in the last days of September this trend has accelerated significantly.

“If we talk about the growth rate of the incidence, this new round has outstripped all the previous ones, this is the fastest growth that we are seeing. We have already broken records for hospitalizations and the number of cases,” the governor explained.

The governor stressed that the Nizhny Novgorod authorities, monitoring the situation, intend to increase restrictions if it worsens, and if it stabilizes, they will adjust towards lifting restrictions.
