“We were in the office, making out a traffic accident. I learned about the shooting from a civilian who ran into our office and told us what was happening. I decided with a partner to go out and check. The students were running, screaming, asking for help. When I ran towards the western checkpoint, I heard a few pops. I yelled at the students to get out of there. I myself went to the territory of the university and asked where the shooter was. They showed me to the sixth building. I went into it and heard the shooter firing at people jumping from the windows. I realized that it is located between the first and second floor. He went downstairs and I will meet him already on the first floor. I yelled at him to "throw it" and he shot me. I fired back,” said Konstantin Kalinin.

Konstantin Kalinin shot Bekmansurov eight times - a whole magazine. As it turned out, six shots were fired at the attacker, two missed. When Bekmansurov was wounded, he tried to reach for the gun and fire. Konstantin Kalinin approached the shooter, threw away his gun and asked if he had any other weapon. Then he took out a knife and threw it away. During the conversation, Timur Bekmansurov said: "Kill me." The shooter was conscious almost until the ambulance arrived - about 10 minutes.

“Before running through the western checkpoint, I went to the parking lot, where I talked to the security guard. Told him to call the services. To which he replied “so you are here”! As a result, I ran further towards the western entrance,” Kalinin said.
