Nebenzya criticized the requirement to allow only vaccinated people to enter the UN General Assembly

The requirement of the authorities of the American New York to the delegates of the UN General Assembly to provide proof of vaccination against CORONAVIRUS is discriminatory, said Russia's permanent representative to the organization Vasily Nebenzya in a corresponding letter, RIA Novosti reports.

“In view of the sensitivity of this issue for each member country, we demand an urgent meeting of the General Assembly on September 16 to discuss the situation,” Nebenzya said.

The letter itself was also sent to the UN member countries, the Secretary General of the organization António Guterres and the Chairman of the 76th session of the General Assembly, Abdullah Shahid.

Earlier, New York authorities said that all world leaders and ministers who will arrive at the meeting of the UN General Assembly on September 25 must be vaccinated against covid-19 . The city authorities expressed their readiness to provide the opportunity for incoming delegates to be vaccinated in New York.
