Most of the Russian tourists who were placed in isolation in Cuban hotels due to suspected coronavirus were released after receiving negative results from a new rapid test. This was reported to TASS by the Consul General of RUSSIA in Havana Nana Mgeladze.

“Yesterday, 230 express tests were made for all tourists who arrived from June 30 to July 4 and whose first test results were positive upon arrival. All but two tourists tested negative,” Mgeladze said.

According to her, information about another 16 Russians who arrived earlier and stayed at the observatory hotel is now being specified. Tourists released from isolation still remain in their hotels due to a tropical storm.

The tourists stuck in the hotel themselves recommended that the Russians not go to Cuba, noting that tour operators ignore them, and there was no support from the consulate.
