The Cuban authorities decided to make express tests for covid-19 for Russian tourists who were isolated due to suspected CORONAVIRUS . This was announced by the Consul General of RUSSIA on the island of Nana Mgelazde, TASS reports.

“Cubans made a decision to speed up the process to conduct rapid tests for all rosters. The results are not yet known,” the diplomat said.

Earlier it became known that a total of more than 150 tourists from Russia were quarantined in hotels in Cuba. Rostourism reported that on the morning of July 5, 103 tourists were released from quarantine, another 89 are waiting for the results of a retest.

Russian Ambassador to Cuba Andrey Guskov clarified to TASS that 149 tourists are now in isolation in the Caribbean Republic, of which 52 people have a positive re-test result.

The ambassador noted that the public outcry due to the isolation of Russian tourists in Cuba does not contribute to the promotion of travel to this country from Russia. Guskov added that it is necessary to continue checking positive test results for coronavirus among tourists who arrived in Cuba.
