“Responsibility for fraud with a certificate of vaccination against COVID-19
Criminal sanctions can be applied not only to officials who forge certificates, but also to citizens who buy and use them,” the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Tatarstan reported today.
According to the police, a criminal case can be initiated under Article 327 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “forgery, production or circulation of forged documents, state awards, stamps, seals or letterheads.” The maximum penalty for falsifying and selling a certificate of vaccination against CORONAVIRUS can be up to 2 years in prison, for buying and storing - up to 1 year.
In addition, if a person with a fake vaccination certificate becomes a source of infection, he may incur administrative (fine, correctional labor) or criminal liability. In case of death, the offender faces up to 5 years in prison under Art. 236 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "violation of sanitary and epidemiological rules".
“When acquiring a vaccination certificate without vaccination, there is a chance of becoming a victim of fraudsters - paying money and not receiving the document,” the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs noted.
