Murashko announced an increase in the effect of a combination of COVID and influenza vaccines

Combining Sputnik V and influenza vaccines could enhance their effect. This was stated by Russian Minister of HEALTH Mikhail Murashko in an interview with TASS.

“We have already given information about the completion of studies on the combination of Sputnik V and the flu vaccine. The first results show that such a combination is possible and even enhances the effect,” Murashko said.

He also noted that getting two vaccinations in one visit to the DOCTOR is “easier, faster, and more convenient.”

On September 17, the Ministry of Health announced the start of studies on the simultaneous use of flu and covid-19 vaccines in RUSSIA. Murashko then announced the start of preclinical studies of such a combination of drugs in animals, after which, according to him, decisions on the next steps should have been made. The Ministry of Health indicated that with successful trials, the combination of influenza and coronavirus vaccination will help to avoid the overlap of diseases. “This is especially true in the autumn-winter period, when there is an increased incidence,” the ministry said in a statement.
