Older people over 60 must be vaccinated against covid-19 , an exception can only be made if they have medical contraindications. This was announced by the HEAD of the Ministry of HEALTH Mikhail Murashko, reports TASS.

“For people over 60 years of age, vaccination should actually be carried out for everyone,” the head of the department said.

At the same time, he noted that among those who fell ill with COVID-19, very few were vaccinated. “More than 98% of patients admitted to hospital are unvaccinated. This suggests that vaccination today works, saves,” said Murashko.

The elderly are at risk for the severity of COVID-19, as are people with various chronic diseases, however, as Rospotrebnadzor previously reported, vaccination against this disease is tolerated easily and without side effects due to the peculiarities of immunity. Immunity is formed within 42-45 days after the first vaccination, therefore, before the production of antibodies, you should continue to follow safety measures: avoid crowded places, wear medical masks and wash your hands more often.
