Murashko spoke about a baby who fell ill with COVID on the third day of life

In the Vladimir region, a newborn at the age of three days was infected with a coronavirus from his mother, Health Minister Mikhail Murashko said, RIA Novosti reports.

“A child at the age of three days of life fell ill with a new coronavirus infection, got it from his mother, a severe course, artificial ventilation was required. From the first days of diagnosis, treatment has been carried out jointly with specialists from the Scientific Center for Children and Adolescents,” Murashko said.

According to him, specialists from the federal center of the Ministry of Health can go to the region to help the child. Doctors are discussing the possibility of transferring the baby to another hospital.

The minister visited the regional children's clinical hospital, where children with coronavirus are treated. The head physician Svetlana Makarova told him that four children with their mothers were in the infectious diseases department with a severe form of the disease, the Vladimir State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company reported. Children make up 13% of COVID-19 cases in the region.
