Murashko called the level of immunity insufficient to defeat COVID-19

There are still too few people with immunity to CORONAVIRUS in RUSSIA to stop the spread of the infection. This was stated by Russian Minister of HEALTH Mikhail Murashko at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2021), RIA Novosti reports.

“Today, the proportion of people with an immune layer is not bad, but this is still not enough to eliminate. Our task is elimination,” he said.

Elimination of infection is the reduction of the incidence of a certain infectious disease to zero within the boundaries of a certain territory.

In early May, Murashko predicted that sufficient herd immunity would be formed in Russia by September.
