Murashko called the current situation with coronavirus in Russia tense

The situation with the incidence of CORONAVIRUS remains tense, so the regional authorities themselves must decide on easing restrictions depending on the epidemiological situation, Russian HEALTH Minister Mikhail Murashko said at a meeting with the regions on combating covid-19 .

Murashko stressed that it is important to continue the formation of herd immunity and the vaccination of citizens from high-risk groups for the course of COVID-19.

“The elderly and patients suffering from cardiovascular diseases and diabetes have been and remain our top priority,” he said. For such patients, Murashko suggested getting vaccinated before discharge of patients from inpatient treatment.

On January 18, mass vaccination of Russians against coronavirus began. Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova announced that as of April 23, more than 11 million Russians had received at least one dose of the vaccine, and 6.8 million Russians had received two doses.
