According to the StartupBlink rating, Moscow ranked first in Europe and third in the world in terms of the coronavirus innovation resilience index.St. Petersburg also made the list of Russian cities

Moscow ranked first in Europe in the coronavirus innovation resilience index, according to the StartupBlink research center.

“Moscow has achieved impressive results and ranks first among European cities. This is mainly due to specific innovations that have had a global impact [on the fight against the pandemic], such as the Sputnik V vaccine.

London came in second and Barcelona in third. The top 10 also includes Berlin, Paris, Madrid, Munich, Antwerp, Milan and Dublin.

The rating is based on a global map of innovative solutions to combat coronavirus. The ranking algorithm takes into account the number and type of innovations that are being used in the fight against COVID-19 . Thus, projects that are accepted for consideration must meet the basic criteria, including innovation, relevance and reliability. For individual outstanding initiatives, rating participants may be awarded additional points.

StartupBlink is a Swedish-Israeli research center and startup development platform. When compiling rankings, it uses its own database, as well as information from partners Crunchbase (a platform for finding business information about private and public companies) and SimilarWeb (provides web analytics, data mining and business intelligence services for international corporations).
