Moscow authorities have deleted the personal data of citizens who collected last year to obtain digital passes needed to move around the city by personal and public transport. This was reported to RBC in the press service of the Department of Information Technologies of Moscow.

“The data has been deleted from all information systems of the Moscow government without the possibility of their recovery,” the message says.

The mayor's office emphasized that representatives of Roskomnadzor were present when the data was deleted.

The Department of Information Technology explained that the use of passes last year allowed to reduce the number of social contacts and flatten the curve of the incidence of CORONAVIRUS.

“This helped to stabilize the burden on the healthcare system and give doctors the opportunity to provide full assistance to each sick person,” the mayor’s office concluded.

Access to the design of digital passes has been opened on the website of the Moscow City Hall Society
The issuance of digital passes for movement around the city by personal and public transport was mandatory in the capital from mid-April to early June 2020. The city authorities took this measure to stop the spread of coronavirus infection covid-19 . The authorities of the capital have introduced three types of digital passes - for travel to work, to medical facilities and for personal purposes.
