So far, not a single case of the omicron strain of coronavirus has been detected in the Perm Territory, and so far it is not expected in the region. This was reported to RBC Perm by Maria Batyrova, Deputy Head of the Epidemiological Surveillance Department of the Rospotrebnadzor Office in the Perm Territory.

From December 4, Permians arriving from the Republic of Botswana, the Republic of Zimbabwe, the Kingdom of Lesotho, the Republic of Madagascar, the Republic of Mozambique, the Republic of Namibia, the United Republic of Tanzania, the Kingdom of Eswatini, the Republic of South Africa and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, must comply within 14 days from the day arrival isolation mode.

The Perm Territory does not have direct air links with the countries of South Africa, in connection with this, the inhabitants of the region fly through the major cities of the country - Moscow, St. Petersburg. All persons arriving from nine South African countries are quarantined, they are in the conditions of the observatory.

“Of course, they can reach us, but this is unlikely. If they arrive in the Perm Territory through a third country, then when passing through passport control, the border guards will see that they have been in one of these territories for 14 days. The patient will be offered self-isolation, daily medical examination for COVID-19 and medical supervision,” said Maria Batyrova.

On December 13, the regional Ministry of Health announced that an observational department was opened in the Perm Territory on the basis of GAUZ PC GKB No. 4 with 40 beds for patients with a new omicron strain of coronavirus.
