The autumn stage of selling tourist packages with cashback starts on August 25 and will cover trips from October 1 to December 25. This was announced during a meeting on the development of the tourism and hospitality industry in Gorno-Altaisk by the HEAD of government Mikhail Mishustin, TASS reports.
“I want to announce the start of the autumn stage [sales of tours with cashback]. It was decided to launch it from October 1, it will last until December 25. It is during this period that you will need to make a trip, ”the prime minister said.
The head of government expects that about 600 thousand people will take advantage of this opportunity in the autumn season.
According to Mishustin, cashback for trips to the Far East will also be increased - up to 20%, it will be possible to return up to 40 thousand rubles. Previously, this threshold was limited to 20 thousand rubles. Russian President Vladimir Putin has previously instructed to double the tourist cashback for trips to the Far East .
The cashback program for paying for tourist trips in Russia was launched in August 2020, it was launched to support the Russian tourism industry amid the covid-19 pandemic .
It was possible to receive cashback at the expense of the budget only when resting inside Russia, paid for with a Mir card. The amount of cashback is 20% of the cost of the trip, but not more than 20 thousand rubles.

However, in early June, the head of the Federal Tourism Agency, Zarina Doguzova, announced that the dynamics of demand for tours was twice as high as last year, which is why sales under the program were closed in mid-June.
The number of domestic tourists in Russia reached 34 million as of early August, by the end of the year it could reach 61 million, the head of the Federal Tourism Agency said at a meeting with the prime minister. According to her, the current figure exceeds the figures for 2021 and even the pre-pandemic 2019.
According to Rostourism, during the program in 2021, Russians purchased tours and paid for hotel accommodation for more than 34 billion rubles, while about 6.7 billion rubles were returned to them in the form of cashback.
