The Ministry of Health predicts the spread of coronavirus in the regions of Karelia

The situation with the incidence of coronavirus in the republic has stabilized,but the Republican Ministry of Health in the near future is waiting for the infection to leave the districts

Over the past day, 421 people infected with a new coronavirus infection have been registered in Karelia, 421 have recovered, the acting official said. According to him, the epicenter of the infection is currently located in Petrozavodsk. At the same time, in the near future, doctors expect a decrease in the incidence in the capital of the republic, but an increase in the number of cases in the regions.

Earlier, the regional Rospotrebnadzor reported an increase in the incidence of COVID-19 last week by 17%. For the 38th week, 3,661 cases were registered in Karelia. An increase in the number of cases is observed in all age groups. In total, since the beginning of the pandemic, 154,264 cases of covid infection have already been recorded in Karelia, including 20,226 children and 25,769 pensioners.

In Karelia, vaccination against coronavirus infection continues. According to the Ministry of Health of Karelia, most of the vaccinated adults are in the Kalevalsky and Suoyarvsky districts, as well as in Kostomuksha. Among children - in Petrozavodsk, Belomorsky, Kondopozhsky and Pryazha regions.

In mid-September, a batch of 48 thousand special nozzles for the nasal method of administering a vaccine against coronavirus arrived in Karelia. Contraindications for the use of the nasal vaccine, as RBC Karelia was told in the Republican Ministry of Health, are the same as for the injectable preparation Sputnik V.
