The Ministry of Health of the Perm Territory answered the question about the timing of the availability of PCR tests

in the Perm Territory, the turnaround time for a PCR test confirming the presence of coronavirus is 2-3 days. As the press service of the regional Ministry of Health explained to RBC Perm, the duration depends on the speed of delivery of the smear to the laboratory.

“Currently, laboratory tests are being carried out in accordance with clause 2.2 of the Decree of the Chief State Sanitary Doctor of the Russian Federation “...”, according to which the term for performing a laboratory test for COVID-19 does not exceed 24 hours from the moment the biological material arrives at the laboratory until its result is received by a person in respect of whom an appropriate study has been carried out,” the Ministry of Health explained.

Currently, in the Perm Territory, laboratory diagnostics of COVID-19 is carried out by 23 laboratories, including 4 federal, 9 regional and 10 private. In addition, the mode of operation of the laboratory service has been changed in the direction of increasing hours of work and capacity up to 18 thousand studies per day.
