In Karelia, the authorities recommended returning to wearing masks in public places due to the rise in the incidence of SARS and the simultaneous circulation of Covid-19 and swine flu. The Minister of HEALTH of the region Mikhail Okhlopkov posted an appeal with recommendations on his page on social networks. The HEAD of the department said that since the end of November, an increase in the load on primary health care by 15-20% has been recorded and did not rule out that there will be significantly more.

“The spread of COVID-19 and the flu is the same. Now people have relaxed, so we get everything at once: the incidence of covid and flu. In order to protect yourself and your loved ones, be sure to wear masks in crowded places, stay at home at the first symptoms of the disease, ”the minister wrote, recalling the importance of vaccination. “The vaccine contains all known strains of flu, including swine,” he said.

According to the Rospotrebnadzor of Karelia, 234 cases of Covid-19 were registered in the region over the past week, which is 13.1% lower than a week earlier. At the same time, the incidence of acute respiratory viral infections among the total population is higher than the epidemic threshold by 64.3%. As specified in the department, mainly due to the age group of 15 years and older. The increase in the incidence of acute respiratory viral infections compared to the previous week + 35.1%.

On the eve of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation recommended wearing masks due to the increase in the incidence of influenza and COVID-19.
