
Kazakhstan will not hold a military parade on Victory Day this year due to budgetary savings and the need to solve other priority tasks, the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic reported.
“Holding a military parade in Kazakhstan in 2022 is not planned due to budgetary savings, as well as due to the need to solve other problems,” the department said (quote from Nur.kz).

In particular, the priority is to maintain the required level of combat readiness and mobility of units of the armed forces of Kazakhstan, the implementation of tasks to ensure the protection and defense of state and military facilities, the Ministry of Defense specified.
Before Victory Day, the country celebrates Defender of the Fatherland Day on May 7th. Instead of the parade, various military-patriotic events will be held, including in honor of veterans.
Thus, the Victory Day parade in Kazakhstan has not been held for the third year in a row. It was postponed in 2020 due to the threat of the spread of the coronavirus. Last year, commemorative events were also postponed due to the serious epidemiological situation in the republic.
