Turkish Defense Minister, who visited Kyiv with Erdogan, also fell ill with COVID

Turkish National Defense Minister Hulusi Akar fell ill with CORONAVIRUS, he accompanied President Recep Tayyip Erdogan during a visit to Ukraine, who had also previously been diagnosed with covid-19 .

“My test result for COVID-19 was positive. Fortunately, I feel well and we continue our work, taking the necessary precautions,” the minister wrote on Twitter.

The Turkish delegation arrived in Kyiv on Thursday, February 3. Anadolu agency reported that Erdogan was accompanied on the trip, in particular, by Akar, Interior Minister Suleiman Soylu and Energy Minister Fatih Donmez, Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank.

Erdogan fell ill with the omicron strain of the coronavirus two days after his trip to Ukraine, on February 5. He said that he and his wife received a positive test result, which is why both will work from home, since the symptoms of the disease are mild. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky then said he regretted learning of Erdogan's illness and wished him a speedy recovery.
