The Ministry of Digital Development is considering the possibility of restricting the verification of QR codes by the official application "Gosuslugi.Stopkoronavirus" due to the emergence of a large number of phishing sites that generate fake QR codes. This was announced by the head of the ministry Maksut Shadayev, reports TASS.

“Most likely, given the fact that we now have more phishing sites that generate fake QR codes, we are now considering the possibility of limiting the reading of QR codes only to our application. It won’t be like before when you just watched from the camera,” he said.
