Introducing a lockdown in RUSSIA in the current situation is pointless. This was stated by Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia Dmitry Medvedev, reports TASS.

“Now there is no point in a lockdown, especially in the face of the emergence of new strains,” he said.

Moscow authorities will not introduce a lockdown due to "omicron" Politics

At the same time, Medvedev noted that the introduction of a lockdown in the spring of 2020 was a necessary measure. “For one simple reason: we didn’t understand what it was and how to deal with it,” he explained.

The deputy chairman of the Security Council recalled that at that time "there were no vaccines, there were no technologies, there was no crisis response system, there was not even a normally deployed system for providing inpatient medical care." In the end, "the lockdown played its positive role," he said.
