Russian private operators on the railway "under the conditions of a mobilization economy" should work in the interests of the country, said the speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko at a meeting with the leadership of Russian Railways, RIA Novosti reports.
According to Matvienko, she is not against private operators, but they had to buy the cars or lease them. However, those “delicious” wagons were uncoupled” and privatized “for a penny”.
“This is a commercial activity, but today we have a mobilization economy and I think that these private operators need to be put in their place so that they work for the country, and not for making money. This is not how they work in a mobilization economy,” the speaker of the Federation Council noted, adding that she intends to raise this issue at a meeting of the Security Council.
