French President Emmanuel Macron has admitted that he wants to participate in the elections in 2022, but the time has not yet come for a candidacy. He stated this in an interview with Le Parisien newspaper.

“Now it’s up to me to take action to fight the pandemic,” Macron said, explaining why he still hasn’t announced his candidacy for a second term. “But I will not hide the fact that I want it. As soon as there are sanitary conditions that allow this to be done, ”he added.

At the same time, the politician noted that this should be his personal decision, which should "strengthen inside."

Elections in France will be held in two stages: April 10 and 24. The election campaign schedule allows applicants to nominate their candidacy until the beginning of March.
