The UK Ministry of Defense has called the military attache of the Russian Embassy for the second time because of the operation in Ukraine, the British department announced this on Twitter.
During the meeting, Deputy Secretary of State Lawrence Lee protested "constant and unjustified acts of violence", pointed to Moscow's commitments under the Geneva Convention and demanded the withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukraine.
For the first time, the Russian military attache of the British Ministry of Defense called on February 24 - the day RUSSIA launched the military operation in Ukraine. Then Lee also demanded the withdrawal of Russian military forces and stressed that London is committed to the sovereignty, integrity and independence of Ukraine.
The British authorities had previously decided that $100 million in assistance would be sent to the Ukrainian authorities - they would be allocated through the World Bank and used to pay salaries to employees of budgetary organizations and pensions. London also announced on March 20 that it had provided Ukraine with £220m of humanitarian aid, which included heated tents, medicine and thermal blankets.
