Leningrad region partially returns the mask mode

The government of the Leningrad region partially restores the mask regime. According to the press service of the regional government, now residents of the region are required to wear masks when visiting medical institutions. Also, the mask regime is introduced in social security institutions for staff when bringing events with the elderly and social services at home.

As the press service clarifies, the decision to partially restore the mask regime was made at a meeting of the headquarters for the fight against covid. The headquarters recorded an increase in the incidence in the Leningrad region, mainly in mild and asymptomatic forms. According to the Stopcoronavirus.rf website, 372 new cases of COVID-19 were detected in the Leningrad region over the past day, 199 a day earlier. For comparison, a week ago on July 28, 141 cases of infection were recorded in the region.

At the same time, there are no plans to increase the number of beds for infectious patients in the Leningrad Region. “The level of hospitalization so far allows us to cope with treatment in the volume of infectious diseases departments. If necessary, the “covid” hospital will be quickly deployed on the basis of the Kirov hospital,” wrote the regional governor Alexander Drozdenko in his Telegram channel.

A day earlier, at a press conference, Dmitry Lisovets, chairman of the St. Petersburg Health Committee, addressed St. Petersburg residents with a recommendation to wear masks in public places. He noted that the city authorities do not plan to introduce such a duty in the near future. At the same time, according to Lisovets, medical institutions in St. Petersburg have the right to introduce a mask regime on their territory and stop admitting patients without masks.
