RUSSIA is ready for mutual recognition of covid-19 vaccines with the European Union. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov at the All Russia 2021 forum.

“There were such timid attempts (because then they somehow came to naught) from Brussels to talk about the mutual recognition of vaccines. We are absolutely ready for this,” the minister stressed.

Most of Moscow's partners in Europe want the Russian Sputnik V vaccine to be registered as soon as possible, Lavrov said.

In mid-August, Lavrov announced that Russia and the European Union were discussing the mutual recognition of CORONAVIRUS vaccination certificates, even if the corresponding vaccines are not recognized in countries. He noted that such an initiative was voiced by the EU Ambassador to Moscow, Markus Ederer.
