Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov discussed the registration of the Russian vaccine Sputnik V with the HEAD of the World HEALTH Organization (WHO) Tedros Ghebreyesus, the Foreign Ministry reported on its website.
The parties discussed over the phone topical issues of international cooperation, including for overcoming the covid-19 pandemic . Lavrov and Ghebreyesus raised the issue of how to ensure equal access of the world's population to the means of preventing and treating CORONAVIRUS, as well as restoring free movement between states.
“Particular attention was paid to the issue of registration of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine with WHO, the need to ensure that all countries mutually recognize documents on vaccination against COVID-19,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
According to Hans Kluge, head of the organization's Regional Office for Europe, the registration process for Sputnik V will soon be completed. He said that by the end of December, the Russian Direct Investment Fund is expected to submit the missing documents. “I hope that the process will be completed soon after that,” Kluge said.
