In 2021, 2686 sq.m. were put into operation on the Don. housing, RIA Rating researchers calculated. The Rostov region ranked 23rd in the country in terms of housing construction.

Over the past year, 0.647 sq.m. in terms of one inhabitant. The national average was 0.636. In the neighboring Krasnodar Territory, there is almost twice as much newly commissioned housing per inhabitant - 1,105 sq.m.

The absolute leader in terms of housing commissioned per inhabitant in 2021 was the Leningrad Region (1,772 sq.m.). Kaliningrad (1.237) and Moscow (1.186 sq.m) regions follow with a noticeable margin.

In absolute terms, the Moscow Region (9215 thousand sq.m.), Moscow (7807 sq.m.) and the Krasnodar Territory (6283 sq.m.) became the leaders in terms of housing commissioned.

Compared to 2020, the pace of construction on the Don remained virtually unchanged, increasing by 1.6% to 2,686 thousand square meters. m. in 2021. At the same time, in the country as a whole, housing construction experienced growth - over the year, the rate of commissioning of new square meters accelerated by 12.7%. The most significant growth was demonstrated by the Jewish Autonomous Region (+111.7%), Karachay-Cherkessia (+83.9%), Chukotka Autonomous District (+82.2%).

Thus, as of 2021, the provision of housing to the population in the Rostov region amounted to about 26.5 sq.m. per person, which almost corresponds to the all-Russian indicator - 26.9 sq.m. per person. According to this indicator, the Don region is on the same level as the Novosibirsk region.

Most square meters are in the Reza (34.2), Moscow (34.1) and Tver (33.7) regions. The republics of Tuva (14.3 sq.m.) and Ingushetia (15.7 sq.m.), as well as Moscow (19.6 sq.m.) experience a lack of housing in terms of a resident.

As RBC Rostov previously reported, since the beginning of 2022, prices for apartments in new buildings in Rostov have increased by 19%.
