Kuban rose to 2nd place in Russia in terms of the number of economic crimes

In January-February 2022, 1,360 economic crimes were registered in the Krasnodar Territory. According to the number of such crimes, the region has risen from third to second place in Russia, follows from the statistics of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation.

Compared to the same period in 2021, the number of economic crimes in the Kuban increased by 26.5% (in 2021 - 1075). Moscow is ahead in the number of crimes - 2550 facts. The top five also includes Moscow region (1213), St. Petersburg (998) and Samara region (858).

According to Art. 291 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (bribery) in January-February 2022, 26 crimes were registered in the Krasnodar Territory - 9 more than a year ago. At the same time, the number of crimes under Art. 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (taking a bribe). For two months of 2022, 48 facts of bribery were registered in the region, while in January-February 2021 there were 94 facts. Thus, the region dropped from first to fifth place in Russia in terms of the number of such crimes.

In general, in the two months of 2022, 12,627 crimes were recorded in the Krasnodar Territory (in 2021, 12,253 facts). In terms of the number of all crimes, the region ranks second in Russia after Moscow. Least of all crimes were registered in the Nenets Autonomous Okrug (110), Chukotka Autonomous Okrug (153) and Ingushetia (300).
