Octagon, citing a source in the AP, wrote that employees who refuse to be vaccinated will not be promoted. Peskov called these reports a lie

Reports that staff members of the presidential administration who refuse to be vaccinated against the coronavirus will not be promoted are false. The press secretary of the head of state Dmitry Peskov told RIA Novosti about this.

Earlier on Saturday, Octagon, citing its own source, reported that AP employees who have not been vaccinated against COVID-19 will not be temporarily promoted. The ban will also apply to nominations for state awards. The interlocutor of Octagon noted that the reasons for the denial of promotion to each candidate will be explained on an individual basis.

“This is not true,” Peskov commented on the information.

Earlier, Peskov explained that even against the background of compulsory vaccination introduced by the regions for certain categories of citizens, under the threat of suspension from work, vaccination still remains voluntary.

“We have already said that if a Muscovite works in the service sector, and he must be vaccinated, and he made a decision for himself not to vaccinate, he simply must stop working in the service sector. And if he wants, he will look for a job elsewhere, which is not connected with those areas where vaccination is mandatory,” the presidential press secretary explained.

In most of them, employers were required to vaccinate at least 60% of employees by a certain date. Otherwise, companies have the right to remove them from work. In some regions, mandatory vaccination applies only to state and municipal employees.

On Friday, the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP) and the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia (FNPR) wrote an open letter asking the authorities to introduce mandatory vaccination against coronavirus throughout the country.

The authors of the appeal explained that in the context of an increase in the incidence of COVID-19, businesses again run the risk of closing for an indefinite period, and citizens - to lose their jobs and incomes. All this, according to business and trade unions, requires urgent and decisive action.

At the same time, a survey conducted by HeadHunter showed that more than half of Russians do not support the idea of mandatory vaccination. Only every fifth inhabitant of the country is definitely ready to be vaccinated.
