The Kremlin ruled out the closedness of the authorities on the topic of COVID-19

The Kremlin does not agree with statements about the closed nature of the authorities in covering the topic of CORONAVIRUS infection. This was stated by the press secretary of the President of RUSSIA Dmitry Peskov, Interfax reports.

“Data on Russia and the main cities, data on deaths, data on newly ill, recovered ones are published regularly,” he said.

The journalists asked the press secretary about the closed nature of the authorities due to the fact that, according to them, not a single agency has commented on the recently published investigation in the media. Earlier, journalists from Meduza (listed in the register of media outlets as foreign agents), Mediazona and Kholod reported that, while studying the certificates issued on the Gosuslugi portal, they found that in the register of the Ministry of HEALTH, created to track the number of cases of coronavirus, there are already more than 29 million records (according to the latest data from the operational headquarters, more than 6 million people were infected with the coronavirus during the pandemic). The journalists concluded that if these figures are correct, then Russia is in first place in the world in terms of the number of people infected with COVID-19 in terms of one million inhabitants.

They turned to the Ministry of Health and the Federal Operational Headquarters for Combating Coronavirus with a request to comment on the difference. The operational headquarters said that information about 27 million cases of COVID-19 or pneumonia is not true. According to them, this figure appears in relation to those vaccinated with the first component of the vaccine as of July 9, 2021.
