Cosmetic network with outlets in Novosibirsk announced its withdrawal from the Russian Federation

The French network of perfumery stores L'Occitane announced the closure of all outlets in RUSSIA and the cessation of online trading.

“In order to protect our employees around the world from potential public aggression, we have decided to close our stores and online sales in Russia,” the company’s website said on April 15.

By the beginning of 2022, 112 L'Occitane stores had been opened in Russia, two of which were in Novosibirsk. In the Russian Federation, the company has 700 employees who will continue to receive salaries. In the world, the company's products are sold in 3085 outlets.

Representatives of the perfume chain said that in recent weeks the company has reduced business operations in the Russian Federation in response to a special operation in Ukraine. In addition, the company announced the suspension of investment and expansion in Russia.

Earlier, on April 14, representatives of L'Occitane told the BBC that they discussed the possibility of closing all stores in Russia, but decided to keep them to protect Russian employees.

“We are especially concerned about those of our employees who have relatives in Ukraine or who are of Ukrainian origin,” L'Occitane said.

Due to the position of the company, some customers called for a boycott of it.
