Gun control, driving schools and a ban on GMOs. What will change in March

With the beginning of spring in RUSSIA and the Kaliningrad region, such innovations are associated as fines for the lack of technical inspection, new requirements for the production of environmentally friendly products and tougher rules for gun ownership. A selection of the most important changes for the inhabitants of the region was made for readers of RBC Kaliningrad.

Parking ban

In Kaliningrad, it will be forbidden to park on two streets in the microdistrict. A. Kosmodemyansky - Magnitogorsk and Luga, located near the Avtotor plant. The traffic police explained that the decision was made to “ensure road safety and increase the throughput of streets.

New rules for driving schools

From March 1, driving schools must provide the traffic police with lists of students 10 days before the start of their studies. The inspection will check them and can weed out people with medical contraindications or those who were previously deprived of their rights.

Indexation of pensions for military pensioners

Pensions to military pensioners and persons equated to them, on behalf of the President of the Russian Federation, will be indexed above the inflation rate - by 8.6% (calculations as of February 23, 2022). The indexation will affect about 2.6 million people, including employees who served in the internal affairs bodies, the National Guard, the Ministry of Emergency Situations and other law enforcement agencies. The law will have retroactive effect: pensions will be recalculated starting from January 1, 2022.

Tighter controls on gun owners

Since March 1, the acquisition, storage, carrying and use of weapons is prohibited for those who have not passed a medical examination for contraindications, including a psychiatric examination, tests for narcotic and psychotropic substances.
