Collective immunity after the abolition of QR codes in the Republic of Tatarstan fell from 83 to 3.9%

“Today, collective immunity to a new coronavirus infection in our republic is 3.9%, in the Russian Federation - 7.4%. We need to start getting revaccinated if we want to continue to live and work in comfortable conditions without the fear of re-infection and the spread of infection. According to statistics, with the introduction of QR codes for vaccinations for visiting public places in October 2021 and until they were canceled on February 21, 2022, we were able to achieve a herd immunity rate of 83%, which allowed us to gradually reduce the incidence of coronavirus infection,” the head said today. Health Department of Kazan Vladimir Zhavoronkov at a meeting in the city hall.

At the moment, more than half of the vaccinated residents of Kazan have passed more than six months from the moment of vaccination. Against the backdrop of an increase in the number of cases of COVID-19, according to Zhavoronkov, the epidemiological threshold for SARS was exceeded by 11.6%, if we take only the adult population - by 46.6%. As of week 32, 3358 cases of acute respiratory infections were registered. 

According to Zhavoronkov, it is possible to get vaccinated against COVID-19 in medical institutions, at vaccination points, one of which is open in the Yuzhny shopping center. In addition, doctors are ready for on-site vaccination at the workplace. To do this, the management of organizations needs to contact the City Health Department or the clinic. 

“Get in with confidence. The time has come,” said Zhavoronkov. 

According to the stopcoronavirus.rf portal, over 100 new cases of coronavirus infection per day have been detected in Tatarstan for the fifth day in a row. Over the past 24 hours, the diagnosis was confirmed in 126 Tatarstan residents. 54 patients were hospitalized.
