The level of herd immunity to CORONAVIRUS infection covid-19 in RUSSIA dropped below 60% to 59.7% against 61.9% a week earlier, according to data from the federal operational headquarters. According to him, in St. Petersburg , Karelia, Sevastopol and the Murmansk region, the level of herd immunity now exceeds 80%, and in Tuva, which was previously one of the leaders, the figure dropped from 80% to 77.3% over the week.

When calculating the level of herd immunity, both those who have been vaccinated against COVID-19 and those who have been ill are taken into account.

According to the Federal Operational Headquarters, to date, 82.6 million full vaccination courses (including primary and secondary) have been carried out in Russia and 86.69 million vaccinations have been made with the first component.

Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova, who heads the headquarters, previously explained the decrease in collective immunity by the gradual disappearance of antibodies of those who were vaccinated or had been ill more than six months ago.

“We recommend getting vaccinated and remembering to get vaccinated every six months,” Golikova said on February 18.
