China marks COVID-19 testing for travelers from August 30

From August 30, CHINA will remove the requirement to present the results of a PCR test for covid before entering the country. This was stated by the official representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Wang Wenbin, reports TASS .

“From August 30, those who enter China do not need to undergo a preliminary PCR test or an antigen test for covid-19,” he said.

From the beginning of 2023, the Chinese authorities began to simplify anti-coronavirus control when entering the country and lift the restrictions introduced during the COVID-19 pandemic .

So, from January 8, Beijing canceled the mandatory centralized quarantine and PCR testing upon arrival from abroad. Those entering China were only required to take a PCR test for COVID-19 48 hours before entering the country and report their negative result when filling out a declaration.

In addition, the Chinese authorities removed the CORONAVIRUS from the list of class A diseases, which are subject to special border control restrictions.

On March 15, China resumed the consideration and issuance of all categories of visas for foreign citizens to enter the country.

At the end of February, the Russian Foreign Ministry and the Ministry of Economic Development told RBC that Russia and China had renewed the agreement on visa-free group tourist trips, suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A visa-free regime for tourist groups between Russia and China was launched on August 1.
