The Cypriot authorities have eased restrictions for residents and tourists due to the increase in the number of cases of covid-19 . The easing of restrictions was previously announced by the Minister of HEALTH of Cyprus Konstantinos Ioannou, the Cyprus Mail newspaper reports.
According to Ioannou, due to the improvement of the epidemiological situation and the increase in the number of people vaccinated against COVID-19, the curfew will not be in effect from 23:00, but from midnight.
SafePass will no longer be required to visit open areas in cafes, restaurants and bars, as well as open-air theaters and cinemas, the minister said. However, according to Ioannou, the pass will remain mandatory to visit gyms, theatres, malls, hotels and nursing homes.
Ioannou noted that all public events will be allowed with the participation of no more than 200 people, the number of participants should not exceed 30% of the capacity of the premises. Ioannou added that amusement parks and playgrounds will also be able to reopen. The capacity of theaters and cinemas is limited to 30% indoors and 50% outdoors.
According to the minister, 50% of employees of private and public enterprises can come to work, while the remaining 50% will have to perform their duties remotely. Moreover, those who go to work must have tested negative for CORONAVIRUS or received at least the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine three weeks before, Ioannou said.
