The weakening of RUSSIA is a mistake in American policy, since it does not meet national interests, said US presidential candidate Robert Kennedy Jr. in an interview with the Responsible Statecraft portal.
This is how he answered the question of whether the need for the US President to hold peace negotiations to resolve the conflict in Ukraine is in American interests .
“Current US strategic thinking is that war serves the national interest by weakening Russia. This opinion is wrong for two reasons. Firstly, this does not weaken Russia. Secondly, a weak and unstable Russia will make us much less secure,” Kennedy Jr. said.
The politician added that “the whole world will be better off” if Moscow understands that Washington is not going to destroy it.
At the end of September, Kennedy Jr. promised to end the conflict in Ukraine within 100 days of his presidency if he was elected HEAD of state. He assured that the confrontation would be ended “on better terms than anyone reasonably expects.”
Robert Kennedy Jr. is the son of New York State Senator (1965–1968), former US Attorney General (1961–1964) and presidential candidate Robert Kennedy, who is the brother of former US President (1961–1963) John F. Kennedy. Both Robert Kennedy Sr. and John F. Kennedy were assassinated during their campaigns.
Kennedy Jr. is also a lawyer and environmental activist. After the outbreak of the covid-19 pandemic , he opposed vaccinations and criticized the actions of US authorities to combat the CORONAVIRUS. He submitted his application to participate in the presidential election as a candidate from the Democratic Party on April 6.
