A new wave of CORONAVIRUS cases is expected in Tyumen. it has already started in Moscow and St. Petersburg . This was told to RBC Tyumen by Pavel Gorodechny, general practitioner, HEAD of the CDL "INVITRO-Ural".
The expert noted that a new wave already exists and will continue to grow. So, according to the regional operational headquarters, as of August 3, 186 cases were detected, this is the maximum value over the past two months.
“So far, the driver of growth is Moscow and St. Petersburg, as the infection spreads faster in megacities with a high population density. And due to the holiday season, residents of large cities often travel within the country, which also contributes to the spread of covid-19 . Also, these cities are more connected with the outside world both touristically and in terms of business, so the virus is more likely to be brought to RUSSIA. And soon it will spread to the regions,” said Pavel Gorodechny.
According to him, this is facilitated by the change of strains of the virus to more contagious ones and the abolition of "mandatory voluntary" vaccination.
The number of tests in laboratories is not growing yet, but the number of positive results has increased. The expert emphasized that no problems with the reagents needed for research are expected - they are available in sufficient quantities.
Pavel Gorodechny noted that an increase in demand for testing is predicted in the near future.
“Most likely, we expect an increase in the second half of August and beyond. This will be associated with an increase in the incidence, and with the tightening of covid restrictions,” the expert noted.
