The case of Belaya and Sushkevich

The Moscow Regional COURT, four and a half months later, finally began considering the case of Kaliningrad doctors Elina Sushkevich and Elena Belaya, accused of murdering a baby. On the fifth attempt, a panel of jurors was formed. Further hearings will be open. The judge expects to finish the process in three months.

Collapse at the border

Two weeks after the start, the collapse at international checkpoints on the border between Lithuania and Belarus is only getting worse. Many drivers have been waiting for customs inspection and paperwork for more than 12 days. Many truckers now not only do not want to travel in the direction of Belarus, but prefer to quit the transport companies that sent them.

Discovery of Poland

From February 19, Poland lifted the restrictions on entry into the country introduced at the beginning of the pandemic for all purposes of travel. However, the lifting of restrictions does not apply to the border with RUSSIA and Belarus (including air traffic). Only students, citizens of EU countries, holders of a residence permit in these states, those who go to the country for treatment, athletes and other categories of citizens can enter Poland from these countries. All of them are still required to undergo quarantine after crossing the border.

SEZ residents

Two companies have appeared in the register of residents of the special economic zone of the Kaliningrad region. LLC Nord Systems will invest 1.845 million rubles in the development and implementation of a digital platform for monitoring, analytics and visualization of critical indicators for industrial enterprises. Stoneberg LLC will allocate 153.6 million rubles to create a production of building materials.

Judgment due to elections

The Kaliningrad regional court refused to satisfy the claim against the governor, the former candidate for the regional Duma, Solomon Ginzburg. Ginzburg challenged the provisions of the statutory law on parliamentary elections: he tried to cancel the potential opportunity for conscript soldiers from other regions of Russia to participate in voting in the regional duma.
