Non-working week in Tatarstan

In the Republic of Tatarstan, a non-working week began on October 30. On October 28, the operational headquarters announced that in the region, until the epidemiological situation improves, entrance to the shopping center, catering establishments and other organizations will be allowed by QR codes and upon presentation of an identity card. Shops and catering establishments will not be able to work at night. For people over 60, self-isolation has been introduced. Minors were forbidden to be in shopping centers without adults and so on. On October 27, Kazan University announced the transition to a distance learning format for the period from October 30 to November 7.

According to the head of the Rospotrebnadzor of the Republic of Tatarstan Marina Patyashina, in October the number of cases of COVID-19 was 3.5 thousand, which is more than twice as high as in September. 

Gas explosion in Naberezhnye Chelny

October 25 in the 4th floor of a 5-storey panel apartment building on the street. st. Tatarstan 25/18 in Naberezhnye Chelny, an explosion of a gas-air mixture occurred. Part of the house was destroyed, people were under the rubble. As a result of the incident, 5 people were injured, including the 70-year-old owner of the apartment where the epicenter of the explosion was. On October 29, he became a defendant in a criminal case under paragraph "e" part 2 of Art. 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder committed in a generally dangerous way). One of the wounded, a 22-year-old girl, died in a medical facility the day after the incident. 

It was reported that the investigation is considering several versions of what happened: the explosion of the gas-air mixture could have occurred due to poor-quality gas supply services or careless actions related to the improper operation of gas equipment.

The owner of the apartment lived alone and was registered with a narcologist in connection with alcohol abuse. In 2010, he refused to provide gas supply services, and a metal plug was installed on the gas pipeline leading to the gas stove.
