In Italy, "green certificates" will be introduced from August 6, which will serve as a pass for indoor events, as well as cafes and restaurants, according to Corriere della Sera. Certificates will be received by those who have been vaccinated against covid-19 or have passed a negative test for CORONAVIRUS (but it will only be valid for two days).
The publication notes that, presumably, even one dose of the vaccine will be enough to obtain a pass. However, if the citizen does not receive the second dose, then the pass will be canceled. In addition to premises, a certificate will also be required for travel in transport - this applies to aircraft and long-distance trains.
ANSA reports that Prime Minister Mario Draghi at a press conference also announced the extension of the state of emergency in the country due to the pandemic. Initially, the state of emergency was introduced for six months - from February to August 2020, but since then it has been extended four times. The last time it was extended until the end of July. Now the authorities have decided to extend the state of emergency immediately until the end of this year.
Nevertheless, Draghi said that the situation with coronavirus in the country is improving, and the Italian economy is recovering faster than in neighboring countries. He noted the success of vaccination in the country - according to official statistics, there are already 105 doses of the drug administered per 100 people (including those who have already been fully vaccinated and received two doses). “Without vaccination, everything will be closed again. The call not to be vaccinated is a call to die,” Draghi said. The Prime Minister of Italy during his speech pointed out the growing danger of the delta strain of coronavirus.
The newspaper Corriere della Sera notes that among the measures that may be further considered by the Italian authorities is the removal of unvaccinated employees from work. This measure is already in place for healthcare workers.
